It’s fall!
To be honest summer was quite the struggle for me.
With the heat and the overall existential dread of the ecological and political situation…But I try to channel the fear and anger into energy to do things that matters. Speak up, create and act.

Early June I took the train north the the magnificent Lake District in the UK. Hike were walked, tea were sipped, watercolor were made and many sheep had a French speaking lady talk to them endlessly. I also got myself a book in a local bookshop: Travel light by Naomi Mitchinson. It was a great read.

July was eaten away by frustrating official errands and grown up stuff. It got me very unhappy for a while. And heat didn’t help at all (I struggle a lot with heat).

By mid august I had recovered and even planned a day trip to Zwin Natural reserve with friends. We spent the day watching birds by the sea and even went tickling the waves with our toes.

Art wise summer was quite uneven. After two commissioned illustrations that I’m really proud of, I struggled to sit and do things for myself. So I did what I always do in such case, take my sketchbook out and try new tools, experiment with shape, play with color. It slowly got my out a my art “block” and by September I was back drawing confidently.

And it’s already the end of this update.
I’m busy working on a new serie of illustrations this October and I’ll update you about later this fall.

Meanwhile enjoy these lights I caught on various walk in nature:
